Balochistan CM invites Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in multi-sector projects

QUETTA: A seven-member Chinese delegation led by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong visited CM Secretariat and held a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik and his team to discuss matters in connection with Chinese projects in the province.

The Balochistan chief minister told the Chinese delegates that law and order situation has improved at satisfactory level in Balochistan and invited Chinese companies to invest in different sectors in the province including mines and minerals, agriculture, livestock and fisheries.

The chief minister said, "Law and order situation has improved to satisfactory level. We invite Chinese investors to invest in different sectors in Balochistan including mines and minerals, natural resources, agriculture, livestock, fisheries and others." He said that execution of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project would bring progress and prosperity for the entire region, especially for Balochistan. "The CPEC will put positive economic and financial affects on the region and the Balochistan would be major beneficiary of it," he added.

Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chhatha gave briefing to the Chinese delegation on different ongoing and proposed projects pertaining to the CPEC and Gwadar Deep Seaport. The Chinese ambassador said his meetings in Balochistan with the government authorities, leaders of political parties and business community were part of efforts being put to strengthen Pak-China friendship and to get consensus on Pak-China joint economic projects. He said that Chinese engineers and technical teams have been working on the project to expand Gwadar Deep Seaport.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Adviser to Chief Minister Haji Mohammad Khan Lehri, Nawab Mohammad Khan Shahwani and Mir Mujibur Rehman Mohammad Hasni were also present on the occasion apart from other officials.
