Polling for second phase of LG polls to begin from tomorrow

ISLAMABAD - Polling for second phase of local government (LG) elections would be held tomorrow, a total of over 20 million voters will exercise their right of franchise in 26 districts of PunjabandSindh.

Election campaigns for the second phase of local government polls in Punjab and Sindh have ended.According to Election Commission of Pakistan, in Punjab, polling will be held in 12 districts: Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Attock, Jhelum, Mianwali, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, MandiBahauddin, Sheikhupura and Khanewal.

While in Sindh, polling will be held in 14 districts: Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, TandoAllayar, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, ShaheedBenazirabad, Nausharoferoz, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkhar. Polling in Sanghar has been postponed due to security reasons.

A total of over 20 million voters will exercise their right of franchise in the two provinces. The Election Commission has finalised all necessary administrative and security measures to ensure free, fair and transparent polling process.
