Gen. Raheel visits Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON: The Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif visited Capitol Hill, where he held meeting with Chairman Senate Senator John McCain, Senator Jack Reed and other senior senators.
Senator McCain appreciated efforts, sacrifices and steadfastness of Pakistan armed forces, specially the Army Chief’s leadership in fighting terrorists in North Waziristan.
Appreciating longstanding Pak-US defence cooperation, Senator McCain emphasized need to further reinforce this partnership in view of emerging developments.
With clear regional security perspective, COAS highlighted need for stepped up Pak-Afghan border management and sustained cooperation to deal with emerging threats.
