PM says Pakistan ideal destination for foreign investors

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said all economic indicators show that Pakistan has become an attractive destination for foreign investors. He was talking to a Russian delegation led by Russian-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade and Scientific Cooperation Co-Chairman Victor P Ivanov in Islamabad on Thursday. Premier Sharif underlined need for establishing direct flights between Moscow and Islamabad to benefit the traders and investors. He also extended an invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin for inauguration of North-South Gas Pipeline, which is the largest investment by Russia in Pakistan. The PM said a firm stance has been taken against terrorism and extremism to ensure a peaceful, stable and investors’ friendly environment in the country. He said terrorists’ hideouts and infrastructure have been dismantled through effective measures. He reiterated that Pakistan supports an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned solution for peace in Afghanistan, which is necessary for restoration of peace in the region.
