Two main accused of Lahore’s Sundar factory collapse held

LAHORE: Police on Monday claimed to have detained two main accused nominated in Lahore’s Sundar Industrial Estate factory collapse case.

Over 50 labourers were killed and more than 150 wounded in the collapse of a four-storeyed factory producing plastic bags November 04.

According to police the main accused, arrested by police, included Architects Tahir and Munir, however, two engineers Ahmad Riaz Ahmed and Muhammad Hussain are still at large.

Police had registered case against five accused on the complaint of Sunder Officer Industries, Azhar Hussain. The nominated accused included factory owner, Rana Ashraf, two architects, Tahir and Munir, structure engineer, Ahmad Riaz and Muhammad Hussain under charges of terrorism, murder and attempt to murder.
