Self-accountability to strengthen judiciary, says CJ

QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Monday said the country’s judicial system is very strong and stable, which can be strengthened even further through self-accountability.

Speaking at a ceremony organised by the Balochistan High Court Bar here, he said the country will make progress with joint efforts of all segments of the society.

Chief Justice Jamali said: “We all have to play our positive role to eradicate the sense of deprivation from the society.”

He lamented that the country had been deprived of a leadership that could turn the masses into a nation, adding that the Almighty has blesses Pakistan with all kinds of resources.

“Criticizing others has become our national culture,” he remarked.

The issue of missing persons in Balochistan was of great importance, he said, adding that the courts were not oblivious of the matter. He expressed his resolve of finding an immediate solution of the issue.

The chief justice urged all constitutional institutions to fulfil their responsibilities towards national progress.
