No dishonesty of even a single rupee in Nandipur power project: president
Mamnoon says politics of meaningless allegations should be ended

FAISALABAD - President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday said that criticism based on lie, deception and dishonesty on the government and national institutions and politics of meaningless allegations should be ended so that the country could be put on the path to progress.

The president said this while addressing the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association’s Excellence Award Ceremony here. Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana was also present in the ceremony. The president also distributed awards amongst exporters which included Faisalabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz, FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Idrees and other industrialists of Faisalabad.

The president stated that the decision to import LNG for addressing the issue of energy was no less than a blessing adding that criticism and allegations in this regard were meaningless and absolutely wrong. “Similarly, there has been no dishonesty of even a single rupee in Nandipur power project,” remarked the president. He said that people who do not do anything try to stop others from working emphasizing that this should end now.

President Mamnoon stated that some people have also hurled baseless allegations on him as well. He said that policies of the present government were correct and it was working with dedication and honesty to resolve national issues adding that the whole nation particularly traders should support the government in this regard. The president stated that in order to get the country out of quagmire of problems it was imperative that the people should stand by the government, tax culture should be promoted and fundamental changes in lifestyle should be made to discourage unnecessary use of electricity.

He said that business community should take lead in this regard so that problems of the country are resolved. The president stated that the government has formulated excellent policies for uplift of textile industry and promotion of exports adding that industrialists and exporters should benefit from these policies and explore new markets for export of their products.

He said that textile industry was a very important pillar of the national economy which was not only a source of precious foreign exchange but this industry also provided employment to people on a large scale. The president stated that the government was cognizant of the issues of textile industry and was working earnestly for their resolution. Pakistan Textile Exporters Association Chairman Asghar Ali Khan and Group Leader Ahmed Kamal also addressed the ceremony.
