PIA, PALPA reach agreement on outstanding dues

ISLAMABAD: The deadlock between the Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) and the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been broken, the airline has agreed to pay the dues PALPA had been demanding.

PALPA pilots had gone on strike after they were denied travelling and daily allowances on international flights. According to the agreement reached, PIA will pay the dues in instalments.

PIA will first clear three months backlog in three instalments and the payment schedule for the four previous months backlog will be decided at a later date.

PALPA President Captain Sadiq said, the pilots protest could have hampered local and international flight schedules.
