Japanese Ambassador visits FJWU
Inomata expresses interest in collaboration between universities of Japan and Pakistan

RAWALPINDI - Ambassador of Japan H.E. Hiroshi Inomata along with his Wife visited Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Wednesday. During his meeting with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Samina Amin Qadir, matters of mutual interest were discussed. He hoped that future academic linkages and other pedagogic agreements between universities of both countries will benefit faculty and students.

The vice chancellor apprised him about establishment, institutions, programs, research initiatives and future plan of FJWU. She elaborated that university aims at nourishing the talents of its students through providing them better facilities regarding research and academia. She said that university is committed to higher level of excellence and focused on providing services to the community rather than just offering degrees.

H.E. Hiroshi Inomata appreciated the efforts of university and its departments for professional development of its students. He said “culture of both countries is quite similar and we should think about cultural and educational exchange. In Japan, lot of emphasis is put on education particularly on women education and we have eighty women universities”, he said.

The ambassador visited the state-of-the-art campus television studio (Vision of Women) and campus radio station FM 96.6(Voice of Women) managed and operated by the students of Communication and Media Studies Department. He appreciated FJWU’s infrastructure and facilities provided for its faculty and students.

He expressed keen interest in increasing collaboration between universities of Japan and Pakistan to share each other’s initiatives, expertise and working procedure.

Mrs. Inomata said that the education is very important for the progress of any nation and women of Pakistan are quite capable to lead this nation. She further said that preservation of culture and technology both are important to create balance in the society.
