Chinese President looking forward to visiting Pakistan: Ambassador

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong at the PM House here on Friday.

During their meeting, Ambassador Sun Weidong informed Prime Minister Sharif that Chinese President Xi Jinping wanted to visit Pakistan soon. Prime Minister Sharif said Pak-China relations will reach new heights with the President’s visit.

The prime minister and Chinese ambassador also discussed security in the region and bilateral relations. The Chinese ambassador invited Prime Minister Sharif on behalf of president Xi Jinping to attend the host partners dialogue to be held during the APEC informal leaders meeting in Beijing next month.

The Chinese ambassador stressed that the country had always given priority to Pakistan in its foreign policy and attached great importance to the all-weather and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appreciated China’s assistance for the relief of the IDPs and the people affected by the recent floods.
