Future of Pakistan depends on our unity: Asif Ali Zardari

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday said the country’s bright future depended upon all the political parties to stand together instead of trying to weaken one another.

At a mammoth public gathering here at Bagh-e-Jinnah on the PPP’s call from many parts of the country, Asif Zardari said: “I welcome you all and I salute your arrival and your courage.”

He said all kinds of rumours are sent across whenever PPP plans to hold its public meeting.

Zardari said it is our ‘Imaan’ (faith) to serve the poor and oppressed people of Pakistan.

“From Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to Yousuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf the PPP rendered services for the people of Pakistan,” he said.

He said our army troops are rendering the sacrifices of their lives at the Line of Control (LoC) and the mountainous terrains of the countries frontiers while they are busy staging a circus in Islamabad.

“Let’s talk about real issues. Let’s talk about Education and health.”

He said PPP’s think tank have all the answers to the challenges being confronted by the country.

He said in PPP’s rule every farmer will have a solar-power-fired tube wells and these will be given away free of any charge.

Zardari said his party will convert the country’s weaknesses into its strength.

“Pakistan has been blessed with all the resources but the only thing that is lacking is the will to join hands,” he lamented.

He said he had predicted that the enthusiasm of the protesters would die down with time and later the same was proved right.

“I am fighting for tomorrow’s Pakistan and its future generations. I don’t want to talk about yesterday, I am only interested in our tomorrow,” he said.

He said the country’s bright future depended upon all the political forces to stand together and called for shunning the politics of weakening one another.
