Sectarianism being fanned at int’l level, says Fazl

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-eIslam-Fazl (JIU-F) Chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Thursday’s attack in Quetta was the third to target him and it is the responsibility of country’s institutions to take serious notice of such attacks if they consider him a Pakistani.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Fazl said sectarianism is being fanned at an international level. It is the basis of war in the Arab world, he said and added all such is being done under an international agenda.

Maulana Fazl further said some groups wanted to worsen Pak-Iran ties and other countries had also their own reservations.

Fazl asserted policies should be made under national interest. He questioned what reason was behind the neighboring countries’ complaints with Pakistan.

JUI-F chief also criticized the security situation in Balochistan and hinted at some elements promoting militancy in the province.
