People issued verdict in favour of new provinces: Altaf Hussain

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Sunday claimed that people of Sindh, by actively observing the black day on his party’s call, had given their verdict in favour of new provinces.

In a statement issued from MQM Secretariat in London, Altaf Hussain said: “Pakistan People’s Party never recognized the Urdu Speaking Sindhis, that is Mohajirs, as Sindhis and the foundation of this hatred and discrimination was laid in 1973.”

He said despite the fact that PPP always declared itself as a national party, it never used ‘Pakistan card’ but conveniently used the ‘Sindh card’ whenever it needed.

Altaf Hussain not only the people of Karachi but Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jaccobabad, Mirpur Khas, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Tando Adam, Tando Allahyar, Khairpur, Larkana and Kashmore observed the black day to protest against what he called the oppression, discrimination and hatred-filled rule of PPP.

“The people have given their judgment that administrative units and new provinces will be formed in Sindh and all over Pakistan,” he added.

He said it is the joint decision of Urdu Speaking citizens of the province and Sindhis to uproot corrupt culture and the outdated and oppressive system of feudalism.
