JI delegation calls on PM, discusses current political situation

ISLAMABAD – A six-member delegation of the Jamaat-e-Islami led by its Secretary General Liaquat Baloch called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House here on Wednesday and discussed overall political situation in Pakistan.

According to sources, the delegation briefed the prime minister about efforts being made by political jirga for an end to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) sit in. The delegation asked the prime pinister that resignations of the PTI parliamentarians should not be accepted in haste as that would further complicate the situation.

Other members of the delegation included memberm of National Assembly (MNAs) Sahibzada Tariqullah, Sher Akbar Khan, Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqoob and others. JI leaders Dr Mirajul Huda Siddiqui and Hafiz Naeemur Rehman were also present during the meeting. Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique also attended the meeting.
