Pakistan offers assistance to Sri Lanka’s landslide victims
Gen Raheel express sympathy, assess assistance required by Sri Lanka

COLOMBO - Pakistan High Commissioner Qasim Qureshi along with the entire staff of the high commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka expressed their deep sympathy and grief on the tragic loss of life and property caused by the recent catastrophic landslide in Badulla District.

The government of Pakistan is abreast with the situation and is actively considering the assistance requirements put forward by the Sri Lankan government. In this regard, Chief of Pakistan Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif, had a telephonic conversation with his counterpart Lt Gen Daya Ratnayke on Thursday to express his sympathy and to assess the assistance required by Sri Lanka. It is expected that relief goods will be airlifted from Pakistan to Sri Lanka shortly.
