Air chief holds talks with US counterpart
General Mark lauds PAF’s sound professionalism, its leading role in ongoing anti-terrorist operations

WASHINGTON - Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman called on United States Air Force (USAF) Chief of Staff General Mark A Welsh III in his office at USAF Headquarters, Pentagon at Washington on Thursday.

Both the dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interest. The air chief highlighted the contributions of Pakistan Armed Forces in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and underscored the leading role being played by PAF. While talking about the internal security situation of the country, the air chief reiterated Pakistan’s resolve for eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country.

The air chief told his counterpart that sound relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan is the key to the success of peace process in the region. He also emphasised on the capacity enhancement of PAF in terms of fighter jets, advanced weaponry and allied equipment. He also stressed upon the conduct of mutual exercises between the two Air forces to benefit from each other’s experiences.

During the meeting, the air chief thanked his counterpart for extending support towards PAF’s capacity building to effectively undertake counter terrorist operations. General Mark A Welsh III lauded PAF’s sound professionalism and its leading role in ongoing anti-terrorist operations. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman is presently on an official visit to the US and would also be addressing the participants of National Defence University, USA during his visit.
