Government challenges Kissan Package suspension in IHC

ISLAMABAD: The government has challenged Election Commission’s (EC) orders on suspension of Kissan Package in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The federal government in its petition filed in IHC on Wednesday took the plea that the package has no relevance with Local Bodies (LB) polls in Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad. The EC has suspended Kissan Package without hearing Finance Ministry and Planning Division, it added. The government requested the court to set aside EC’s decision on suspension of Kissan Package and issue a stay order against the EC decision.
