PPP-PML-N clash amuses Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD:The clash between the PML-N and the PPP veterans in the parliament on Thursday seemed to amuse Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan who was caught in the eye of the storm after boycotting the joint sitting of the parliament where all the political parties gathered to discuss Indian hostilities and situation in held Kashmir on Tuesday.

The PPP and PML-N on Wednesday took exception to Khan for boycotting the session which was supposed to send a unanimous message to India in the wake of brutalities in held Kashmir and violations of ceasefire agreement.

"Congratulations, they (PML-N, PPP) were fighting today," grinning Khan was heard telling his close aide Assad Umar in a video aired by TV channels. Assad Umar, who had reportedly dissented with Khan over the latter's 's decision of the boycott, appeared to be unaware of the situation in parliament and asked the chairman what happened in the session

"Don't you know, Everything fell apart between them... He (speaker) has to adjourn the session. That's what i was telling you," Imran Khan was heard telling Umar.

Later speaking to media, Imran Khan asked the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) to introduce minus one formula to expel Asif Ali Zardari from the party.

"Zardari does not want the PM to be held accountable". He said there can be no opposition as friendly as that of Khursheed Shah.

"We even backed Khursheed Shah despite the fact that he himself was on government's payroll," Khan said. "The opposition leader himself is facing charges of corruption."

"They say that we went for a solo flight. We took to streets upon witnessing no progress on the terms of reference (ToRs) of Panama Papers probe," he explained.

He praised Aitzaz Ahsan for actually wanting the accountability of the prime minister. "There are some PPP members who actually seek accountability of the PM, but those at the helm do not let it happen."

The PTI chairman said his party was planning a sit-in and it would continue to boycott the assembly until their demands were met.
