India, Pakistan urged to resolve issues by dialogue: SAARC

By: APP

LAHORE: South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik on Thursday urged Pakistan and India to resolve their outstanding disputes.

He said to fully exploit the economic potential of the eight-member SAARC for better future, durable peace in the region was needed. He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Furniture Council, headed by its Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq – who is also a life-time member of the SAARC’s chamber.

According to Malik, SAARC possess the potential to become one of the major global centres of economic power. “For this to happen, South Asia needs peace, stability and mutual cooperation,” he said.

Showing disappointment at the recent cancellation of SAARC conference after Indian refusal to participate, Malik said that war was no solution to disputes and both the countries should resolve their issues through dialogue.

He lashed out at India for escalating tension to conceal its brutalities in Occupied Kashmir – besides blaming Pakistan for Uri attack without any investigation.
