Earthquake jolts federal capital, parts of KP

ISLAMABAD: Tremors were felt across the federal capital and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

The quake – measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale – hit many areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Malakand and Hazara among others.

According to the KP’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the epicentre of the quake was located in the Hindu Kush with depth of 169 km.

In wake of the tremors, many people vacated their homes and buildings fearing aftershocks. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far.
