Islamabad not to close on Oct 30: Ayaz Sadiq

LAHORE: National Assembly Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Saturday said that conspiracies to hinder the process of development under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will not succeed at all.

Talking to the media after the inaugural ceremony of a new Academic Block at Queen Mary College, he said that Islamabad would remain open on October 30 despite Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s plan to hold a protest sit-in in the federal capital.

“Islamabad will not close, the city as well as all business activities will remain open and conspiracies of those who want to scare away investors will fail,” Ayaz Sadiq said.

He said that education was the basic right of each and every child and the government was doing its best to fulfill its constitutional obligation.

Ayaz said that various projects were underway in educational institutions across the country to provide learning-friendly environment to students. The speaker said that the government was providing all resources to National and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities to minimise life and property losses during natural calamities.

He said that performance of disaster management authorities had improved due to provision of latest technology. Ayaz Sadiq said the losses could be reduced through
disaster preparedness and better management.
