MQM London leaders reject ‘minus one’ formula

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London leaders, in their first press conference after August 22 anti-state speech by MQM founder, have rejected ‘minus one’ formula.

The presser was held at Karachi Press Club amid heavy security, consists of police and Rangers personnel, outside the KPC.

Strict security checking took place for people entering the KPC.

MQM London’s newly made Rabitta Committee leader Professor Hassan Zafar Arif said, “Neither minus one be carried out nor it is possible.” He said, “Altaf Hussain is an inalienable part of the party.”

MQM London leader said, they were holding this presser in response to minus-one formula.

Zafar Arif said, there was no such thing like MQM London or Pakistan, it is only one which is headed by Altaf Hussain. It will remain one, he emphasized.

Hassan Zafar Arif, Advocate Sathi Ishaq, Kanwar Khalid Younus attended the press conference.

MQM London leaders reposed confidence in the leadership Altaf Hussain during their presser.

Earlier, interim MQM-London Rabita Committee members arrived at the press club for the news conference.

On Friday, MQM-London announced formation of a new 12-member interim Rabita Committee, according to a press statement.

The committee comprises Nadeem Ehsaan, Wasay Jalil, Mustafa Azizabadi, Professor Hassan Zafar Arif, Ishaq Advocate, Amjadullah Khan, Kunwar Khalid Younus, Ashraf Noor, Akram Rajpoot, Ismail Sitara, Idrees Alvi Advocate and Momin Khan Momin.
