MQM will resign if parliamentarians don’t correct behaviour in one week: Altaf

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has announced that his party will resign from parliament if parliamentarians do not correct their behaviour within one week.

In a statement, the MQM chief said there was no rule of law in the country, adding that a parliament were only rhetoric was repeated was useless.

He further said such a parliament failed to discuss and address the problems of Pakistanis and in light of this MQM MNAs, Senators and MPAs could no longer remain a part of it.

Altaf Hussain has also directed his party’s MNAs and senators to submit their resignations to the deputy convener.

Mr Hussain has summoned a meeting of all responsible workers and sector in-charges at 6:00 PM in Azizabad, Karachi.

According to a statement issued on MQM website, the leader stated that he was already saddened over the country’s current political crisis and now the irresponsible and selfish behaviour of the senior party leaders has made him even more upset.
