Deadlock between govt, protestors ended: Rehman

KARACHI – Senior leader of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and former interior minister Rehman Malik has claimed that political crisis is drawing near conclusion and deadlock between the government and protesting forces has ended now.

Talking to journalist on Thursday, Rehman Malik lauded the opposition jirga (council) for endeavoring hard for resolution of the prevailing crisis. He expressed hope that the nation would get good news in two to three days.

The PPP leader urged both the sides should review their stance carefully and adopt a practicable approach in resolving issues, especially in view of the upcoming visit of Chinese president.

He ruled out the notion that talks between the government and protesters had broken down. Rehman Malik said that another phase of talks would start soon and hoped it will be final round to end the ongoing political crisis.
