Altaf directs MQM workers to begin rescue, relief work for flood victims

KARACHI/LONDON - Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussain has directed his party workers and office bearers across the country for initiating rescue and relief activities for torrential rain/flood hit population in Punjab and Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK).

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Altaf ordered the MQM activists to take every possible step to rescue the stranded people in flood affected areas and to provide maximum relief to the flood victims. He said that the precious human lives and properties had already been lost in the calamity and thousands of people were left homeless and facing critical circumstances.

The MQM chairman directed to end all party engagements and concentrate over rescue and relief work in Punjab and AJK which were adversely affected due to torrential rains and flash floods. He directed the office bearers of party to setup relief camps in the affected areas and to extend maximum help to the victims of the calamity and ensure safety to their lives and properties.
