No institution above the constitution: CJ

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk has reiterated that no institution is above the constitution.

Addressing a ceremony to mark the beginning of the new judicial year, Chief Justice Mulk said law and order in the country could not be achieved if the constitution was not protected. He emphasized that there would be no compromise on the constitution and rule of law.

The chief justice added that they had gathered at this event to evaluate last year’s performance of the judiciary and formulate the coming year’s polices so justice can be granted to the people. The chief justice assured that there would be no delay in the dispensation of justice.

The chief justice further said rule of law in the country can only be established when the judiciary acts on the constitution with honesty.
