258 stranded Pakistanis brought home from Libya

ISLAMABAD: A special chartered flight arrived in Lahore on Tuesday with 258 Pakistanis on board, the Foreign Ministry said.
This is the 6th such flight since August 13 to bring home thousands of stranded Pakistanis in Libya.
As many as 1,727 Pakistanis have been airlifted from Libya so far. Around 1,800 destitute Pakistanis are still awaiting evacuation, presently, housed in relief camps set up by the Pakistan Embassy in Tripoli. Frequent flights are planned during the coming week so as to ensure that the stranded Pakistanis being supported in emergency accommodation are brought back to their homes at the earliest, as per the PM’s directive.
In the meanwhile, all required support and sustenance is being provided to Pakistanis stranded in Libya by the embassy in Tripoli, which is fully functional despite the ongoing instability and violence in the country.
