Pak missions abroad to open accounts for fund collection: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Pakistani missions abroad to open accounts for collections of funds for flood affected people.

This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam during her weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Thursday. She said Pakistan has not launched appeal to international community for foreign assistance. She said accounts for collection of funds are being opened by Pakistani missions abroad so that Pakistani Diaspora can participate in flood relief activities.

Tasnim Aslam said water disputes between Pakistan and India are very important and needs to be discussed. She said in response to the letter of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif suggested that the two countries should increase cooperation on environment related issues including discussion for resolution of disputes affecting climates of the region.

About terrorism, the spokesperson said Pakistan is fighting against terrorism in all its manifestations and our armed forces have been taking action against this menace without any discrimination.
