Punjab rejects Rs100 mln KP aid
Ghani says aid for people not for govt, such steps lead to tensions amongst provinces
INP

LAHORE – Punjab government on Friday rejected Rs100 million cheque offered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government for the relief of flood affectees.

The provincial government has said that no aid is required for the people displaced by the natural disaster as the province can take care of its people. The government thanked KP for their offer of assistance for the flood victims.

KP Minister for Information Mushtaq Ghani has said that such steps will lead to tensions amongst the provinces. He said that the aid was for the people not for the government. “The rationale of the decision of the Punjab government is beyond our understanding”, he said.

Mushtaq Ghani said KP would also reject Punjab's aid, if offered.
