Baloch asks MQM to sever all links from Altaf Hussain

By APP

ISLAMABAD: Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Lt. General (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch on Friday asked Dr Farooq Sattar led Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to openly sever all connections and disassociate itself from Altaf Hussain who had been toeing line all along against Pakistan.

Speaking in the National Assembly the minister said it was a fact each member in the House of MQM loved Pakistan but their repeated statements describing their own people only as patriot and negating the rest was highly objectionable and questionable.

He said other races in the country like Talpur people of Balochistan, Kharal of Punjab, Faqir Appy and red clad people had also rendered supreme sacrifices for creation of the country but MQM had been discrediting their struggle and sacrifices.

He said it was not suitable to attribute all sacrifices and claim credit for people of single language from one area adding we all wanted to move forward hand in hand.

Referring to speeches and anti Pakistan activities of Altaf Hussain, Abdul Qadir Baloch questioned whether or not Pakistan flag was alight and that on what charges Altaf Hussain was sent behind bars and who went to India and gave a statement that creation of Pakistan was a blunder.

In such scenario each time members of MQM pleaded that Altaf Hussain was mentally unstable adding it was totally out of place to assure even now that policies pursued by MQM before August 22 were correct ones.

Besides disassociating himself from Altaf Hussain, he said, Dr Farooq Sattar would have to take some drastic and fundamental decisions to gain popularity for his party.

He said after August 22 MQM would have to determine its new direction from now on adding it was responsibility of Pakistanin stitutions to protect the state s integrity.

He wondered that MQM itself had demanded for deployment of Army but ironically it was raising hue and cry when action was taken against it but if it was against others then it was all right.

He said Pakistan s integrity would not be compromised and it would be protected at all cost adding action would be taken against those who were involved in wrongdoing.

He said though Dr Farooq Sattar’s condemnation statement against Altaf Hussain’s anti Pakistan speeches was welcomed but we will wait and see as to how MQM takes its course for future.

Earlier Parliamentary Leader of MQM in the National Assembly Dr. Farooq Sattar said that August 22 was a bad day for the entire nation and the country but added that it was also a very bad day for the MQM.

He said I denounced and disowned the incident and dissociated myself from it adding that we are patriotic people and our forefathers had given sacrifices for creation of Pakistan.

He added that despite our repeated apologies and dissociation of MQM from Altaf Hussain, we are being pushed to the wall.
