Qadri says won’t join PTI’s Raiwind March

LAHORE: Dr Tahirul Qadri, chief of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek on Saturday said his party would not join the Raiwind March, a protest rally which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf intends to take out in the home town of ruling family.

“Our decision is final. We are not going to Raiwind since the march could lead to unrest,” Geo News quoted him as saying.

He expressed the fear that the participants could violate sanctity of life and property. Imran Khan on Friday invited all the opposition parties to join the march which the PTI is launching against the alleged corruption of the incumbent government.

Earlier, he had announced that the march would take place on September 24, but on Friday he said the date could be extended to allow other parties to take a decision on joining the rally.

Imran Khan made it clear that his protest was not aimed at storming the house of ruling family, warning the government against use of force.
