More officers deployed to ensure safe travel on Eid
By: APPLAHORE: On the directions of Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police, the number of patrolling officers and special squads has been increased at N-5 Central Zone to ensure safe and secure travel by road-users on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
DIG Faran Baig personally supervised the campaign and special road safety pamphlets and brochures printed for the purpose were distributed among the commuters and motorists at all movie points & toll plaza on national highways.
The flowers and gift hampers were distributed with an aim to share the happiness of Eid and strengthen public and police relationship. The DIG issued instructions to all the patrolling staff to remain alert and respond within shortest possible time in case of any mishap or breakdown.
Special instructions were also issued to take strict action against overloading of passengers and overcharging of fare by transports. The road users are requested to contact Motorway Police personnel or NH&MP Helpline (130) for any complaint.
