ISLAMABAD: Prime Minsiter Nawaz Sharif wished the whole nation a very happy Eid on Monday and urged everyone to not neglect the needy on this occasion.

Ina statement issued from the Prime Minister's House, the PM said that the nation would have to rid themselves of extremist measures by overcoming their personal interests. He also recognized the sacrifices rendered by Kashmiris and said that on the occasion of Eid, one must not forget the plight of the people of occupied Kashmir.

Wishing the nation a very happy Eid, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Eid-ul-Azha reminded Muslims of the selfless sacrifice that Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) rendered for Allah and his devotion to the will of the Almighty.

Eid-ul-Azha would be celebrated across Pakistan on Tuesday, September 13 2016 where Muslims across the country would mark the occasion by sacrificing animals and distributing their meat among the poor and relatives.

Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in remembrance of the selfless devotion of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) towards Allah, who was tested by the Almighty when he was ordered to sacrifice his son. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) proved true to the test and was ready to sacrifice Hazrat Ismail (A.S) for the sake of Allah, when the prophet's son was replaced with a lamb instead.
