DG Rangers chairs meeting to review security for Eid

KARACHI: DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar on Monday chaired a meeting to review the law and order situation ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

According to details, General Bilal Akbar stressed that security arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha must be finalized. Also, DG Rangers reviewed the law and order situation for the metropolis ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Major General Bilal Akbar also said that law enforcement agencies were ready to cope up with any challenges.

"We have prepared a whole framework to deal with any untoward situation that aims to disrupt the law and order situation in the city," he said.

The law and order situation in the city had taken a turn for the worse during the last couple of months, when famed Qawwal Amjad Sabri was gunned down in the city's Liaquatabad area and Owais Shah, son of SHC Chief Justice Sajjad Shah, was kidnapped. On August 22, workers belonging to MQM had stormed ARY News' office in Sadar and vandalized it after an instigating speech from party supremo Altaf Hussain.
