PAT chief Tahir-ul-Qadri leaves for London

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri left for London on Thursday and vowed to take up the Model Town massacre case at the international forum.

Speaking to media personnel outside his residence in Lahore, the PAT chief said that the second round of his 'Qisas' drive could be initiated any time. Qadri said that he had decided not to march to Raiwind due to moral reasons but if the government closed all doors then the option could not be fully excluded.

Dr Qadri said that he would fight the case of the Model Town massacre in the International Court of Justice since it was an act of terrorism committed by the state. He urged all opposition parties to decide on a unified plan of action that they could undertake against the government in the future.

On June 17, 2014, at least 11 PAT workers were killed and over 100 injured in clashes with police in Lahore’s Model Town area.
