Hidaya Foundation Announces Relief Drive


San Jose, CA: Hidaya Foundation has started collecting cash and in-kind donations for victims of the earthquake that struck in the north of Pakistan on the morning of 8th October 2005.
Based on initial assessments, Hidaya Foundation is immediately releasing $125,000 in cash for blankets, tents, sleeping mats, jerry cans, food aid and medical kits. Additionally, two 40-ft containers holding clothes and household items, previously shipped as a part of Hidaya’s long-standing relief container program that are arriving Karachi on 9th October 2005 are being re-routed for distribution to help earthquake victims in the affected areas.
Hidaya Foundation is requesting people of all backgrounds and faiths to generously donate to the noble cause to help reduce the pain and sufferings of the victims of this natural disaster. A message says: “In addition to monetary donations, we are currently collecting new and used blankets, winter clothing, shoes, medical supplies, bottled water, plastic sheeting, computers, toys, and other emergency supplies.
“Hidaya will continue sending relief containers on a regular basis throughout the month of October. We are requesting all donations intended for our next container shipment to Pakistan and Kashmir be delivered by October 16, 2005 at our Milpitas collection facility.
