Dr Omar Alfi Passes away
Inna lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji'oon. To God we belong and to Him we will return. Dr Omar Alfi returned to his Lord. May Allah shower him with His mercy and give sabr jameel to his grieving family.
Dr Alfi was described as ‘the brain, the architect and the visionary of the Islamic Center of Southern California and the New Horizon School System.’ His services to the community were many and multifarious. So were his contributions as a scientist: he developed laboratory techniques to determine the appropriate growth of a foetus early in pregnancy, especially of older women. His work was widely published and he applied it in a pioneering institute: ‘The Genetic Institute in Pasadena California’.
He was highly respected by the community and will be missed by one and all.
