A Student’s Impressions of the March 23rd Celebrations in Fullerton

On March 25, 2018, Pakistan Link, Urdu Link, ARY Mansuri Show and the Consulate General of Pakistan Los Angeles hosted an elaborate event in Fullerton to celebrate the Pakistan Resolution Day. The event also featured the screening of “Mr Jinnah: The Making of Pakistan”, a documentary.
People of all ages and cultures came together to celebrate and learn more about Pakistan's history. It was a great experience for the younger generation, such as myself, to learn about the variety of Pakistan's culture and roots.
The event started at 6:30 pm with a delectable dinner and eased its way into karaoke, national songs, and speeches. Kids of all ages sang classic Pakistani songs such as the Pakistan National Anthem and read beautiful poetry specifically about Pakistan's culture, history, and geography. Shortly after, many people delivered speeches including Consul General of Pakistan Los Angeles Abdul JabbarMemon and President PL Publications ArifZaffarMansuri.
The Jinnah Documentary was a re-release of the historical documentary, “Mr Jinnah: The Making of Pakistan.” Presented by Ambassador Akbar Ahmed, the film features interviews with people who were close to Mr Jinnah and were familiar with his accomplishments and how he made Pakistan an independent state. It was definitely an impactful film and personally added to my knowledge about the establishment of Pakistan.
