American Muslims for Sustainability Attend the Los Angeles Engagement Forum

Los Angeles: The American Muslims for Sustainability were pleased to attend the Engagement Forum held by Energy Upgrade California and Climate Resolve on the 25th of September at LACI facility in downtown Los Angles, says an announcement. It adds:
Energy Upgrade California, a statewide initiative of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and Climate Resolve presented an Engagement Forum on energy efficiency for Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to rally Californians around a shared mission to motivate every resident to make a difference with small actions.
Notable speakers included California Senator Ben Allen who updated the organizations in attendance about the latest policy advances in California by the Senate and Governor Brown. Actor and Environmental Activist, Ed Begley, Jr rallied for sustainability actions and presented awards for energy efficiency achievements. The dynamic Academy Award-winning Univision Journalist, Gabriela Teissier was the event moderator. A featured panel of regional trailblazers titled, “From Ideas to Actions: Mobilizing Community Members for Change” inspired Mahomed Khan of the American Muslims for Sustainability and attendees on achievable best practices and programs that CBOs can implement. The room was filled with energy generated by the exchange of ideas as the invitees networked to create connections to support and enhance their approaches to sustainability and energy efficiency.

In celebration of the energy efficiency leadership of partner CBOs like American Muslims for Sustainability, lunch was generously provided by Climate Resolve and Energy Upgrade California. The event was hosted at the Los Angeles Clean Tech Incubator (LACI), where promising cleantech startups are mentored as they create a green, inclusive economy for Los Angeles.
