AMWEC Serves the Needy and Homeless on Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, AMWEC held two heartwarming fundraisers and service events. AMWEC's president, Anila Ali, and board member, Samina Bakhtiari, joined African American Islah Food Pantry, in downtown Los Angeles to serve the local needy and homeless folks. They collected hundreds of donations and served food items for Thanksgiving weekend.
Scores of people had lined up to receive the food items and clothes. Their gratitude and love could be easily observed.
AMWEC team had joined forces up with Al Madinah Center and Mrs Asmi Hussain, to put smiles on the faces of their fellow Americans.
AMWEC board member, Mrs Parveen Ahmed, cooked meals for the homeless for Thanksgiving at the Pomona Valley Christian Church and showed non-Muslim neighbors that Muslims are as committed to America’s success as anyone else. Bishop Wilkins welcomed her and thanked her for building bridges of understanding between interfaith communities.
Join us in bridging divides and making the world a better place.
Amwec is a Muslim and Multifaith women's organization that was started by Pakistani women as a forum to engage and empower Muslim American women to show their non-Muslim neighbors that they are as committed to America's success as everyone.
