Mohammad Abdul Rahim Passes away

The Muslim community of Southern California is mourning the death of another highly respected and senior community member, Br. Mohammad Abdul Rahim, who passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 in Corona. Inna lillahiwainnailayhiraji'oon.
May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace in Jannah and give his family fortitude and courage to bear this monumental loss. My heartfelt condolences and sincere prayers are with his family during this most difficult time in their life.
Br. Mohammad Abdul Rahim was born in Hyderabad, India and graduated from the prestigious Osmania Engineering University majoring in Civil Engineering. At that time, the normal trend for students was to go to England for higher education. Br. Rahim broke the normal tradition and decided to go to the United States of America where 9 out of 10 best universities in the world existed and are still operational. He acquired a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah in the early 50's and also decided to move to the newly created country for Muslims, Pakistan, and settled down in Karachi.
He accepted a senior position in the Karachi Development Authority and soon after was promoted to the prestigious position of Chief Engineer of the Karachi Development Authority of the largest city in Pakistan. Using the knowledge, technology and experience acquired in the US, Br. Rahim actively participated in all phases of town planning, strategic expansion and construction to accommodate the needs of the rapidly growing and heavily populated city of Karachi. He was extremely proud and happy of his great accomplishments in Pakistan.
After the death of his loving wife, Sister Nasima Rahim, he retired from his post of Chief Engineer of KDA and moved to California in the early 80's to spend the rest of his life with his children and grandchildren.
Br. Mohammad Abdul Rahim is survived by his beloved children Ehsan Rahim, Tasneem Siddiqui, Arif Rahim, SabihaBaig, Ashraf Rahim, Mohsin Rahim, Majid Rahim and dozens of loving grand and great grandchildren.
Funeral prayers for Br. Mohammad Abdul Rahim were held at the Islamic Society of Corona-Norco (Corona Masjid) and he was laid to rest in the Corona Cemetery. May his soul rest in peace. (Ameen)
