COPAA Eid Networking Gala

On August 24th COPAA held the first Eid Networking Gala in Irvine, CA. Our evening, according to a COPAA announcement, was packed with young professionals from different educational backgrounds.

“In efforts to empower the youth community with more professional development resources, COPAA invited three speakers who inspired everyone by narrating their professional journey. Speakers included Farrah Khan, the first brown woman to be elected as a Council member in the city of Irvine. Next, we had FarhanaHaque, a Technical Program Manager at Facebook. Farhana shared the impact her work has on connecting people across the globe with access to internet through satellite programing. Additionally, she stressed the importance of networking coupled with a bold attitude. Lastly, we had James Patrick Haung an Executive Director for a Non-Profit, share his personal story through professional development and offered his mentorship services.

COPAA would like to especially thank one of our founder members, Dr Mansoor Shah, for opening up his home and hosting the event. Dr Shah has been a great leader who doesn’t hesitate to give back to our youth community in whatever capacity he sees beneficial. Such a great event would not have been possible without our amazing volunteers Hifza Murtuza and Amna Waheed. Last but not least, thanks are due to all our attendees. We truly felt everyone who attended came with an intent to learn about professional development and make lasting connections.

If you attended the event, we would love to hear from you!
