APF Interns Attend 58th Session of the Commission on Social Development at the United Nations

In June 2019, American Pakistan Foundationreceived Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Affairs Council (ECOSOC), enabling it to engage the international community at the United Nations on policies and initiatives important to the APF mission.
Through the UN Initiative, APF hosts UN meetings focused on Pakistan and participates in NGO Civil Society Meetings hosted by ECOSAC.
APF also provides opportunities for students to contribute through the APF United Nations Internship Program, which was formally launched this month.

On February 14 in New York City, APF interns Adina Aamir, Kelly Cruz Valencia, Yosha Ashis Kumar, and Najma Tubssum attended the 58th session of the Commission on Social Development on homelessness, affordable housing, and social protections for all.
