APPNA, HEC to Host Conference on ‘ Building Primary Care Capacity: Pakistan's Critical Need’

An APPNA announcement states: “We are very excited to share with you the amazing development of our upcoming Innovative Collaborative Design Conference entitled "Building Primary Care Capacity: Pakistan's Critical Need", organized jointly by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the Association of Physicians of Pakistani-descent of North America (APPNA) to be held on March 4-5, 2020 at Rawalpindi Medical University, Rawalpindi.

“The conference has gained huge momentum and we have confirmed participation of over 60 leaders in Medicine including Vice Chancellors, Pro-vice chancellors and Deans, Heads of Family Medicine Departments as well as government officials including Federal and Provincial Health Ministers, Secretaries and leading private health organizations.
“Our inaugural plenary session will introduce the workings of APPNA, HEC, PM Health Care Taskforce and Federal Ministry of Health by their respective leaders to kick off the conference. This innovative Design Conference will then continue as Working Sessions for the rest of the two days covering FM Policy Framework, Curriculum and Training Models, Health Care Systems and Role of Technology, Preventive Care, Public Private Partnerships and Strengthening Nursing Care. All of this will eventually make its way into a summary 'White paper' of recommendations for Capacity Building in Primary Care in Pakistan. A preliminary agenda of the conference is  attached .
