Masjid al-Haram & Masjid al-Nabawi to Reopen on 8 th Ramadan

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced to reopen the Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi for worshippers from 8th Ramadan.

The Saudi government also issued instructions that need to be followed for the reopening of the two holy mosques.

This follows an earlier announcement by Saudi Arabia’s Hajj and Umrah Ministry that the Haram in Makkah and Medina will soon be opened for worshippers.

Haramain Sharifain shared a post on Facebook & Twitter indicating that both harams will be accessible to worshippers following a commitment to relevant procedures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Some of the regulations worshippers must abide by when both Harams are opened include bringing their own musallahs, as nobody will be allowed to enter without one, bringing their own Qur'ans and maintaining social distancing while praying.

Other conditions include bathrooms and toilets in both Harams will remain closed, worshippers must wear face masks, and using hand sanitisers which will be available at the entrances of both Harams.

Saudi health officials are actively taking part in the sterilization of mosques. However, the Eid and Tarweeh prayers might still remain banned because the mosques receive heavy footfalls.

Muslims all over the world have been delighted to receive the news of the reopening of the two holy mosques.
