Neighborhood Council Leaders Unite behind Faisal Gill for City Attorney

Los Angeles, CA:  Demonstrating his wide-ranging support from grassroots leaders throughout Los Angeles, Faisal Gill, a civil rights attorney running for Los Angeles City Attorney, announced he received the endorsements of five neighborhood council leaders representing diverse communities throughout the city. They are:

  • Michael Ebenkamp, North Hills East Neighborhood Council President
  • Mustafaa Tajuddin, former PICO Neighborhood Council President
  • Mansoor Khan, Echo Park Neighborhood Council President
  • Furkan Yalcin, North Westwood Neighborhood Council President
  • Daymond Johnson, Empowerment Congress Central President

This comes on the heels of Gill's campaign last week announcing the powerful support of Assemblymember Isaac Bryan and a trio of esteemed Los Angeles religious leaders.
In a statement reflecting on the announced endorsements, Gill commented:
“I’m humbled to gain the confidence and support of these respected neighborhood council presidents and leaders throughout the city. Our neighborhood councils are the backbone of our communities and power Los Angeles to make our city better, healthier and safer. I thank our local leaders for their endorsements, and we’ll work together to make this a city that delivers for everyone.”
Recently, Gill released a new digital ad titled "Progressive Approach." The ad highlights the failures of LA's approach in criminalizing homelessness as well as his plans to help fix the broken system.

Notably, Gill has also earned key endorsements from US Congresswoman Karen Bass, Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly Mitchell, Congressman Ro Khanna, State Senator Sydney Kamlager, and the California College Democrats, among scores of others.
Previously, Gill formally launched his campaign for Los Angeles City Attorney by releasing a video ad titled "Do Better”.
