Sadequain’s Exhibition on Pakistan Independence Day (2021) in Minsk, Belarus

The first-ever exhibition in Minsk, Belarus promoting Pakistan’s rich culture opened at the University of Culture Art Gallery on August 13, 2021 for a preview for the invited dignitaries. The exhibition will remain open for general public from August 14 until September 13. Pakistan’s ambassador to Belarus H.E. Sajjad Haider Khan,
hosted the Independence Day Celebrations. SADEQUAIN Foundation USA curated the exhibition.
On the occasion the dignitaries were entertained to live music by euphonious sounds of Belarusian divas and a rich collection of Pakistan’s bountiful cultural heritage including truck art by artist Iqbal and Tariq Khan, Pakistan landscapes and tourist resorts, Pakistani handicrafts, and variety of artifacts.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan stated at the opening of the exhibition, “Pakistan is a large country with a population of more than 220 million. For thousands of years, this land cradled rich civilizations, and our cultural heritage represents an amalgamation of historical evolution. We are proud that we are a multicultural, multinational, and multi-ethnic country."
Speaking on the occasion the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, Madaam Natalya Karchevskaya said, “This is not our first project together with the Embassy of Pakistan. The Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, the University of Culture Art Gallery, and Belarus as a whole are always open to people of goodwill. We always respect the culture of other countries, have high regard and love for our friends, no matter how far away other countries are.”

Established in 2007, SADEQUAIN Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to discovering, preserving, and promoting Sadequain’s art globally. To that end, the Foundation has published 24 books on Sadequain’s life and work, and curated more than 100 seminars and exhibitions around the globe resulting in resurrection of Sadequain from obscurity.



Dr Salman Ahmad, an electrical engineer by profession, founded the SADEQUAIN Foundation in June 2007 to catalog Sadequain’s work and introduce it to the world. He has authored 24 books on Sadequain.
