The Holy Month of Ramadan Is Days away!

The Holy Month of Ramadan is days away and we have to prepare as much as possible for the blessed month to ensure we take advantage of all of the opportunities it has within it.

Shura Council’s partner  Yaqeen Institute  has prepared resources for our entire community to prepare for the blessed month:

1. Don't neglect Sha'ban

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, " [Sha'ban] is a month to which people do not pay much attention, between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are taken up to the Lord of the worlds, and I like that my deeds be taken up when I am fasting.” (Sunan Al-Nisai).

The month of Ramadan is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited time of the year for Muslims, and many of us have already begun our countdown. But as we prepare ourselves for the holiest time on the Islamic calendar, we often neglect the many blessings of the month leading up to it.

Soften your heart by signing up for one of Yaqeen’s previous Ramadan series presented by Dr Omar Suleiman. Each day, you will receive an email including a video based on the track you choose, along with a tip on how to set and stick to your goals this Ramadan.

3. Reconnect with the Qur'an

Ramadan is the month of the Qur'an. Whether your goal is to read a Juz' a day or deepen your understanding of it, now is a great time to rekindle your relationship with Allah's book using one these resources.

4. Brush up on the basics

Why do we fast? How do we fast? Who must fast? When are the best days to fast?

Whether you're new to Islam or have fasted for years, it's a good time to gain a deeper understanding of this particular act of worship before entering the month of fasting.

5. Recently issued Shura Council  Ramadan Advisory

6. Purchase  your  Ramadan dates   from California, not occupied Palestine.

May Allah allow us all to make it to and through the month of Ramadan and gain all of its benefits Ameen! - Islamic Shura Council Southern California
