Historic Interfaith Peace-Building Trip to the Middle East

On May 7th, a delegation of AMMWEC peacemakers will be embarking on a special interfaith mission to Israel and the United Arab Emirates in partnership with Sharaka, a new Arab-Jewish alliance, says an AMMWEC announcement. It adds:

In the spirit of the Abraham Accords, the trip will explore transcending differences and find common ground to build a better future for all humanity. AMMWEC aims to build bridges of understanding on a human level and learn more about the cultures and faith traditions in Israel and the UAE.

Through this experiential learning trip, we can better educate ourselves and strengthen the bond between the Abrahamic faiths. This is how each one of us can contribute to the advancement of peace and coexistence.
As Muslim American matriarchs and with our male allies, we feel a responsibility to constantly seek avenues of friendship and fraternity. As faith leaders, and as Muslims we seek to emulate Prophet Muhammad and his role modeling of interfaith friendships and outreach. Thus, we seek peace and understanding to transform antagonism into genuine friendship. We feel a responsibility to our children that we do not allow past grievances to prevent the building of a better future. We hope that women, supported by men, can help lead the way as peacemakers. AMMWEC seeks to build women leadership that can change the world for the better.
We look forward to sharing insights from our journey – and hope this trip will spark other interfaith missions around the world. - AMMWEC
