Barry D. Hoffman Passes away

It is with great sadness and a deep sense of loss that we inform you of the passing away of Mr Barry D. Hoffman, S.Q.A, Honorary Consul General of Pakistan on September 18th, 2022. Having been appointed in 1976 during the 200th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the United States of America, Barry was the first person to have been nominated by the Government of Pakistan to hold this position in the New England area. From that time onward, he continued to tirelessly serve five states in New England for the next 46 years. It is very difficult to describe in a few words the services that he has rendered during this long period of time to the Pakistani community locally, to the Governments of Pakistan and the USA, in improving diplomatic relations between them and also by building bridges between people with different social, religious and spiritual backgrounds.

His funeral was private. A formal Memorial Service for him is being planned by the family for October and its details will be announced shortly.

May God Almighty shower His blessings and compassion upon Barry and may his soul rest in peace and tranquility eternally, surrounded by the Infinite Grace and Mercy of  God Almighty. We pray that his family and loved ones are given the strength, patience and endurance by God Almighty to accept the great loss that his absence has created.

Please remember Barry Hoffman in your supplications and prayers and offer dua'a for his departed soul. He was a man who carried Pakistan in his heart, mind and soul.

Stay blessed, all.

Shehla Gull

President, Pakistan Association of Greater Boston (PAGB)
